Locations of L.I. Shoots:
Filming location: Water Mill, Town of Southampton, Suffolk County, near the intersection of Hayground Road and Montauk Highway.
According to Dan’s Papers, the production used the historic Hayground Windmill and surrounding farmland to recreate a Dutch village, with tulips planted around the mill and local residents appearing as extras in Dutch clothing.
The Mary Pickford Foundation independently confirms that the Dutch village exteriors were filmed in Water Mill, and the American Film Institute cites contemporary film-industry reporting documenting the Long Island shoot.
