It’s Time for Tea

After the death of their young daughter, all that remains in Rebecca and Allen’s home is an extensive toy collection and profound grief. Both are attempting to process their loss: Rebecca chooses to repress her pain, while Allen regresses to their child’s age in order to replace her. When an unconventional therapist visits with them, he assures Rebecca he can bring her husband back, but first, she must enter into Allen’s land of make-believe.—Matthew J. Kaplan

About Matthew:

Matthew J. Kaplan is a writer, filmmaker, musician and actor. His award-winning short film IT’S TIME FOR TEA has been screened worldwide and his plays have been performed throughout the country. Matthew is an active member as a playwright with NYC’s The PlayGround Experiment. He is a co-creator of the web series DISTURBANCES and he has been an ensemble member of comedy teams at The People’s Improv Theater and with Gotham City Improv. His songwriting and bass playing can be found on the 2021 release “Broken Bat Singles” by indie-rock band THE BRIGHT SPOTS.
