Calling It Quits was awarded the Best Story prize and also garnered the Best Actor award for Dennis Boutsikaris at the Long Island International Film Expo (LIIFE) 2008.
The program guide described Calling It Quits as the story of “A world-weary baby-boomer who struggles with everyday life, his past and the question of the existence of God, in a painfully humorous quest for happiness. Shot on Long Island in: Roslyn, Sea Cliff, Town of Oyster Bay, and Huntington Hills. Limited sexual content, language, violence and nudity.”
