It was purely by luck that I stepped into Fred’s world. One would think that I would have found Fred during my original research of other Internet sites of movies filmed on Long Island, however that was not the case. All the sites that I had gone to only showed me “Hollywood” type movies.
I truly believe that fate brought me to Fred via a different route, a route I feel was meant to be and the rewards if you will, is proving to be greater.
If I would have found information of Fred’s movies the way I did for all the other movies that I have listed, I would have listed his movies among all the rest. This way, he has his own section and so he should, based on his talents as I describe on the next page, and you will see for yourself when you watch his movies.
However, I digress. While making connections on Facebook, I quite by chance and luck came across a woman named MaryAnn Flynn-Giannino. Her page stated that she was a Casting Director. I thought that would really be nice to make friends with someone like that who had such an exciting job, so I sent her a message asking her to be my friend and inviting her to visit my website, read about my love for movies on the “About Me” page and also become a Fan on my Facebook page. Shortly thereafter I received the following post on my Facebook Fan page:
These “conversations” were at the end of September 2010.
“MaryAnn Flynn-Giannino - Great Site - The Movie "Jesse" by Fred Carpenter which is still in production and all of his productions in the past have been filmed on Long Island. We love filming here!.”
I was so thrilled to hear from her. Prior to that I had been excited that I was connecting to cinematographers, filmmakers and writers from California and believe me that was a thrill. But to receive a message from someone who was involved in the film industry on Long Island was absolutely the best.
I bathed in those wonderful thoughts for a few days. I let them wash over me, uhm.. If these movies did not have just a scene or two filmed on Long Island, and if these movies were completely filmed on Long Island, how great is that.
Two days later I sent a private message to Mary, here are a few excerpts:
“First let me ask, are all of Fred Carpenter's movies filmed completely on Long Island or at least mostly on Long Island?
If they were mostly or completely filmed on Long Island, I would love to set up a section on my site for all of his movies.
That would be an honor for me to showcase movies made on Long Island by someone who lives on Long Island.
I just quickly checked out Fred’s website and looked at Mafia Sons ( I like mob movies ) very nice. Will check out the rest on his site. ( Little did I know then that most of his movies are mob related. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mary chuckled when she read that. )
If you think Mr. Carpenter would like this, I would love to have his blessing to go ahead with this project.
Here is an excerpt of her reply:
“Spoke to him about you already today...... You have our blessing to put us up on your site.”
“Best wishes I think you are doing a wonderful thing!”
Welcome to Fred’s World
Fred has managed to assemble an ensemble cast who play in many of his movies. The casting is perfect. His Casting Director for most of his movies is MaryAnn Flynn-Giannino.
The action sequences, the unexpected twists and Fred’s unique talent of inter cutting scenes at unexpected moments all help to identify Fred’s gift, technique and signature of his movie making.
Grab your popcorn, get comfortable in your seats and get ready for a roller coaster of action.
Watching one of Fred’s movies is like reading a good book, you do not want it to end, you yearn for more and more.
You are truly in for a wonderful experience.
It is with great pleasure, that I present Fred Carpenter’s Showcase of movies.
